What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD, is the second most prevalent active ingredient in cannabis and hemp plants. CBD may provide many benefits to the mind and body through the endocannabinoid system (ECS), but it does not produce the euphoric effects most people refer to when speaking of cannabis.

Benefits/Precautions

Some research also suggests that CBD may help with anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain. CBD may benefit you greatly, but you must purchase it from reliable vendors that require their products be lab tested. CBD is primarily marketed and sold as a dietary supplement and the FDA does not regulate the safety and purity of dietary supplements. As a consumer, it is always wise to do your research before purchasing CBD from any vendor.

What is Broad Spectrum CBD?

Broad-spectrum CBD is THC-free but has other cannabinoids present. The more cannabinoids present in a CBD product, the more benefits it can provide to one’s body and mind through the (ECS). Broad-spectrum CBD is great for people who do not want any THC present in what they consume but want as many benefits from the plant as they can get. Derived has started its CBD product line with broad spectrum CBD.

What is Full Spectrum CBD and the ‘Entourage Effect’?

Full Spectrum CBD is sometimes called “whole-plant” oil because it contains everything from the plant including phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and trace amounts of THC. Having all of these beneficial compounds present can create something called the ‘entourage effect’. The entourage effect is simply a synergistic relationship between all the active compounds in hemp. Unlike a single compound product, like an isolate, products with many active compounds can be more effective.
